Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department in collaboration with Miami Children’s Expo is hosting an adoption event

(MIAMI, December 3, 2013) – Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department (ASD), in collaboration with Karing About Kids, Inc. celebrates the 4th Annual Miami Children’s Expo presented by Miami Children’s Hospital on Saturday, December 7, 2013, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, at the Miami-Dade County Fair and Expo Center, Fuch’s Pavilion, located at 10901 Coral Way, in Miami. The free admission and parking event features a number of free activities including activities for kids, pet adoptions, exhibits, photos with Santa Claus, character visits, kids kitchen, car seat checks, child safety ID cards and bicycle helmets fitted for each child, while supplies last.

Miami-Dade Animal Services Department is an open admission public shelter.  Over 31,000 pets are abandoned each year at the shelter where staff and volunteers work diligently to reunite, re-home or find a Rescue Partner for the animals.  The Department is also responsible for enforcing Chapter 5 of the Miami-Dade County Code and Florida State Statutes pertaining to animal cruelty and neglect.
